Build, test, and deploy AI agents.
Cast is a CLI and terminal UI for creating, configuring, and shipping production-ready AI agents. Describe what your agent should do; Cast scaffolds the agent, wires up tools and permissions, and deploys it to your platform of choice.

What you can do with Cast
Create an agent
cast new launches an interactive wizard that scaffolds a new agent with instructions, tools, and a model.
Build, ship, and iterate
A guided tour from cast new to a deployed agent, with the rest of the dev loop linked in.
Deploy anywhere
Railway, Fly.io, DigitalOcean, Sprites, Docker, or local. Each agent gets a unique deployment SHA so you can run many in parallel.
Chat in your terminal
Streaming responses, slash commands for release and deploy workflows, plus an on-host TUI that runs inside the container.
How Cast is organized
The docs are split into three top-level categories:
- Getting Started — install, quick start, concepts, and the global Cast settings file.
- Building Agents — create / edit / run agents; the development workflow (TUI, sessions, walkthrough); versioning (undo log + Git); and deployment (releases, lifecycle, providers).
- Configuration — per-agent settings: custom tools, MCP servers, and persistent memory.
Reference is auto-generated where it should be and hand-written where it matters.
- Reference — every
cast <command>and/slash-commandis extracted from the source on every build. - Prose — concept pages, walkthroughs, and deployment deep-dives are written by humans and linked from the reference.
- Status — see when the reference was last extracted, what's new in the manifest, and which commands still need a prose page.
